Weekend Update

Seems like so much as happened this week considering it started off with a visit to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA on Monday. My husband and I met our daughter and 3 of her friends for breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel and the spent the day in the park. We drove home on Tuesday and while we had a great time I was thrilled to leave the Los Angeles traffic behind us. Pictures of our trip are posted to our personal photo blog:

My finish of the week is "Beneath the Sunlit Sky" by Blackbird Designs. I played a little with the colors substituting the WDW or GAST with Crescent Colours. It's stitched on 28 count bone lugana.
I received the squares from the Fair & Square Exchange. For some reason my original partner dropped out and Sharon was gracious enough to stitch these lovely squares for me and even included some extra little goodies. Thanks Sharon!
And last but not least I picked up "Ladybugs and Bumblebees" by Country Cottage Needleworks from the framer. Picture is not the best since it's hard to avoid the glare from the glass but you get the idea. It's already hanging on the wall. LOL!

Return from La-La Land

Hubby and I just returned from Southern California and spending time at Venice Beach, Hollywood, and Disneyland. This was my first time to Venice Beach and I was captivated by the vendors, street performers, artists, local folks and tourists which make up for the colorful scenery.

The first set of photos of our trip are posted to my photo blog. Enjoy!

Lots of Goodies

I participated in a "color exchange" in one of my Yahoo groups and here are the goodies I received from my partner Wendy C. As you can see she did quite well in choosing  and making some fabulous goodies in my favorite color. I love the gorgeous needlecase and wonderful personalized drawstring bag.  THANK  YOU WENDY!!

Finished!

Earlier this week I completed Ladybugs and Bumblebees by Country Cottage Needleworks. It's stitched on 28 count moss/celadon lugana using DMC floss. I love how it turned out and I'm my way home tonight I dropped it off at the framers.

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day has always been special at our house. Nope, we're not Irish..not even close. But it is my mother's birthday. So I want to take this moment to wish my mother Lucy a very special St. Patrick's Day Birthday. I love you Mom!

Weekend Update

I've had quite the week so bear with me as I bring you all up to date. The week started off with a pleasant treat when I was profiled in Nordic Needles' weekly newsletter.

I started a new piece for our stitch-along (SAL) in the LHN/CCN group and I made much better progress that I anticipated. It's one of those projects that almost stitches itself because each stitch is a pleasure and brings a great design to life. We had 10 charts to chose from and I changed my mind at least half a dozen times before deciding on "Ladybugs and Bumblebees" by CCN. I'm stitching this on 28 count moss/celadon lugana using the DMC called for.
I also finished two previous stitched pieces into mini ornamental pillows which I did by adding beads all around the edge.
And last but not least is the blocks I stitched for the Fair & Square exchange using "Bernard" by Hand in Heart Needlework.

Weekend Update

Happy Sunday all! Hope you remembered to "spring forward." Doesn't seem fair to have one less hour this weekend but guess I won't feel that way in the Fall when I get it back. LOL!

This week I worked on a new model for Little House Needleworks and all I can say is that fans of LHN won't be disappointed. In between that project I got some smaller pieces done to add to my ornament collection. I now have quite a few piled up so I need to make a date with my finisher Bette and let her do her magic.

Yesterday I spent the day with a few gals from my local stitching group at one of our favorite shops and managed to make a little progress on my BBD piece. I also added Prairie Schooler's "Woodland Santas," Book 96 to my collection and some navy blue 25 ct. lugana to stitch them on. I have a friend who did them on the dark fabric and they really turned out so pretty. Stitched over 1 they will make great ornaments.
