Weekly update

I've devoted most of my stitching to my new model for Little House Needleworks and thankfully I finished it earlier this week and got it off in the mail. I know Diane has received so I can really breathe now. My biggest fear is that the post office would lose it, so I'm always nervous till I know it's safely where it belongs.

I was able to attack my own stitching with a vengeance and made quite a bit of progress. I really wanted to have "a finish" so I decided on this cute little ornament, Sammy Snowcone by Michelle Lutzen. I finished it with these wonderful beads I had in my stash which at the moment I can't even remember where I got them from. They're a bit larger than the usual glass bead but I love how this came out.

As you can see I liked them enough to finish another ornament, Faith Hope Peace which I stitched back in late December of 2010.
As part of Valentine's Day I painted these little wooden boxes for my kids which I filled with candy...Jelly Belly for my daughter and See's Candies for my son. My daughter is a collector of Wonder Women items so I couldn't resist getting her this little cutie.
I got these from my generous, loving husband.

"No man ever sank under the burden of the day. It is when tomorrow's burden is added to the burden of today that the weight is more than a man can bear."

In remembrance

My thoughts and prayers are with my family in Indiana who this past week lost a father, grandfather, uncle, brother in law, and friend.

Stash Enhancement

I did a little stash enhancement thanks to two gift certificates I got for Christmas. Took a little cruising online but I finally settled on this great series by Bent Creek called The Branch. I believe the last Bent Creek series I did was back in 2007 when I stitched the monthly Snappers so I'm looking forward to doing something new.
My other choice was Winter Wonderland, Loose Feathers #39 by Blackbird Designs and some Bo-Peep Pink 28 ct. lugana. Mary Kathryn was kind enough to include the new freebie from Prairie Schooler which will be a fun little project.
