Rose Hill Plantation

I received my Rose Hill Plantation (by Little House Needleworks) piece back from Vonna and what can I say...a picture is worth a thousand words so here goes! She did a second piece for me and I will post it when I place the pillow form in it.
I highly recommend her work so check out her blog The Twisted Stitcher

Model Stitching Posted

I did the model stitching for Mary, Mary Quite Contrary for Country Cottage Needleworks. I so enjoyed doing this piece and love the frame Nikki picked for it.

Overdue Update

Not sure where the last two weeks have gone other than I spent too much of it at work. It was our busiest time with "the" conference scheduled for early June but thankfully that is all behind me now and it's time to think VA-CA-TION! Hubby and I already have plans to get away for a few days to South Lake Tahoe, CA and we're really looking forward to it and celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary.

On the stitching front I have a few projects in rotation and finally started Sailing, Sailing by Little House Needleworks for our SAL. I did the finishing and mailed the package to my partner in the Prairie Schooler group exchange and will post a picture when Sara M. has it. In the meantime I can share a picture of the goodies I received from Sara. I love the little box, floss tag and measuring tape she made for me and I'm just overwhelmed by her talent and generosity. Thanks again Sara!

I've continued playing with my paints and made a little box in honor of my grandson Izaiah which I plan to mail to my son and daughter in law this week. I was looking forward to their visit later this month but unfortunately it has been postponed for a little bit. My daughter in law is interviewing this week for a job as an RN in ICU so keep a good thought that it will work out.
The painful part of the last week was the loss of my uncle Luis Huertas, Sr. "Big Louie" as we affectionally referred to him was married to my mother's baby sister for close to forty years and his passing was unexpected and a shock to our family. My heart, prayers and thoughts go out to my aunt Blanca, my cousin Ray and his precious granddaughter Kaylin.

Weekly Update

A few weeks back I mentioned I'd gotten back to playing with my paints, stickers and Mod Podge. I've done a few little projects and enjoying my rediscovery of this long lost hobby of mine. The small red box is one I use when I travel to carry my jewelry, as you can see it just yells "me." The second is a frame I painted and decorated as a memento for my husband. It now holds a picture he had taken while visiting the Phoenix Zoo back in April.
Most of my stitching time I spent working on Mildred's Garden House by Blackbird Designs and I'm really making some progress on this one. I am now back to the baby sampler for my grandson Izaiah and hope to do the final finish on my Prairie Schooler exchange piece.

And new to my stash:

Weekly Update

It sure is hard getting back into the swing of things after a 3-day weekend. We decided to drive south and spend the extended weekend in Monterey, CA. The weather, which we thought might be in the lower 60s, was just awesome with three beautiful, sunny, clear days close to the 70s. We took long walks down Cannery Row and the beach and mostly just absorbed the ambience.

I made some progress on my stitching and this is the progress I've made on the sampler for my grandson. It's going along a little quicker than I expected and my goal is to have it completed by the end of June. I'm also committed to two other SALs so I started Mildred's Garden House with the gals in the Blackbird Designs Yahoo group. For the Little House Needleworks SAL I've decided to work on Sailing, Sailing and hope to start that one later this week.

Of course no update is complete without the latest photo of my grandson Izaiah.
