Mini finish

I forgot to mention that I finished Autumn Leaf into a mini pillow.

Weekly Update

I spent the last 8 days visiting my family in Cleveland, Ohio. I had a good time with my mom and my sister who travelled up from Florida and we did plenty of talking, eating, and shopping together. We spent Father's Day with my two brothers at a great BBQ at the home of my brother Jorge and had a nice get together at my brother Santos' home on Friday.

I did take a day to make the drive to Columbus to shop at Cross My Heart and met at the shop with Renee and Kim. If you've never been to CMH I highly recommend the shop. They have a great selection of charts and the gals are just so friendly. After a bit of stitching and shopping Renee and I met up with Nancy and Lauren and we had a fabulous lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. I also got a chance to have dinner with my two best friends from high school Maria and Esther. The time went by way too quickly and the only downside was the heat and humidity. Of course I returned to find temps in California in the high 90s. I'm sure I'm not responsible for carrying it here considering what airlines charge for overweight luggage...LOL!!

I added these to my stash:
Land of Liberty by Erica Michaels
Old Glory Pearls by SamSarah
The Branch Snappers by Bent Creek
Americana Panorama by Blue Ribbon Designs
Uber Flag by Bent Creek

Weekend Update

As I mentioned in an earlier post I decided I would stitch one freebie every month from my stash since I have so many of them piling up on me. I did this little piece during my lunch hour this week.
Autumn Leaf
by Tink Boord-Dill

My friend Kate and I are doing a SAL of the Christmas Double Flip Its by Lizzie Kate so we started together on Friday evening at our monthly meeting. After much searching online I find this wonderful 28 ct. linen banding at Violarium

I also took some photos of what is "blooming" around our house and posted them to our photo blog.

And last I leave with a photo that I took of hubby this morning as he left for his Tour de Cure ride (sponsored by the American Diabetes Association). Patrick rode 45 miles at an average speed of 11 miles an hour, did 2200 feet of climbing and raised $1089 with the help of our friends and coworkers. His company along with 197 riders raised close to $79,000. Thanks again to all who donated.

New from CCN

Winter Wonderland

Country Cottage Needleworks and Crescent Colours have partnered together to bring a new line of thread packs in silks. Each thread pack comes with the chart and enough silk to stitch the design on 28 count linen (or 14 count aida). Each measures 47w x 89H. If you want to stitch the entire collection on one piece of fabric, the finished stitch count will be 239w x 89H.

Weekly Update

My finish for the week is this piece by Kirsten Edwards, editor of The Gift of Stitching magazine.
Joy Assisi Ornament
Fabric: 14 ct. blue aida
Thread: Noel 4105 by WDW

I  added part 8 to the Spanish Sampler by Periphaeria Designs. Just two more parts and this piece will be done. It's going to make a great pillow, can't wait!
From the Fair & Square Exchange I got these wonderful squares from my partner, Jill F. Thanks so much, I just love them and can't wait to finish them into an ornament. The card was a lovely bonus and great touch. The design is Heart in Hand Independence Day Roundabout called Old Glory. Jill used Americana and Lancaster Red threads by WDW and coffee dyed the white DMC. Just awesome!
And last but not least I kitted another project to go in my "TO DO" bin. This design is by Little House Needleworks called Colonial Women. Will be another fantastic addition to my patriotic wall.
