New Stash

Been awhile since I've added to my stash so all these goodies sure made it feel like Christmas. I have all the latest designs by Little House Needleworks and Country Cottage Needleworks and while I love them all, I just had to kit up "The Lady" and hopefully can start her soon. I took a short hiatus from model stitching but will soon have a new one to stitch for LHN and that will take priority till it's done. I can't wait...I so feel my stitching mojo coming back in full force. I also picked up these cute snowmen charts by Lizzie Kate that I actually hadn't heard of and seen before. Talk about being out of touch!! LOL!

Stashing is fun...

Nothing to show as far as my stitching since I was working on a model for LHN, which I recently finished. I hurt my wrist a few weeks ago when I fell, so my stitching has been a bit slow. I spent much time on my computer reading blogs and exploring new cross stitching charts. Here's my stash enhancement this week.

Stash Enhancement

I got Liberty and Thirteen Colonies by Little House Needleworks added to my stash so while at the LNS yesterday I picked up the threads they had and ordered the rest. Can't wait to start on these two.

Stash Enhancement

I did a little stash enhancement thanks to two gift certificates I got for Christmas. Took a little cruising online but I finally settled on this great series by Bent Creek called The Branch. I believe the last Bent Creek series I did was back in 2007 when I stitched the monthly Snappers so I'm looking forward to doing something new.
My other choice was Winter Wonderland, Loose Feathers #39 by Blackbird Designs and some Bo-Peep Pink 28 ct. lugana. Mary Kathryn was kind enough to include the new freebie from Prairie Schooler which will be a fun little project.

Rest, shopping and turkey!

It was wonderful having the week off and though hubby had to work I got plenty of things accomplished. It was nice having the time to read, stitch, watch movies, and get some holiday shopping done. Been eons since I spent the better part of a day wandering in the mall and looking around and not worrying about the clock. I got a wonderful pair of UGG boots and a dress for my niece's wedding. I'm enjoying The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown and I highly recommend this book. My stitching was mostly confined to putting the finishing touches on a model so I hope to be working on my own projects soon.

We spent Thanksgiving with my daughter who cooked an awesome dinner. Plenty of food, fun, and friends to enjoy with it. After dinner my daughter and I braved a visit to Michael's for their earlybird sale at 5PM and we both got some awesome goodies, at great prices, and the lines weren't bad at all.

One of my cyber-stitching friends Sara M. came to the USA from Italy for a visit and I was able to met up with her at Needle In A Haystack in Alameda and we had a great visit just chatting and stashing. What better way for stitchers to bond! LOL! My bag was full of plenty of goodies, mostly Lizzie Kate charts.

I finished off my vacation by getting out the Christmas decorations and started putting things out in preparation for the holidays. Hope to find a "real" tree I like so I can decorate it before I head out of town for my niece's wedding. Already December is looking to be a very busy month.

Stash Enhancement...Texas style!

No trip is complete without a bit of stash enhancement and I was lucky enough to visit both Cross Stitch Plus and Stitches From the Heart (thanks Cindy for the recommendation). I bought a few San Antonio and Texas related pieces. I got the Mission San Jose kit while visiting the Mission San Josè y San Miguel de Aguayo which is one of five missions which are part of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.

Weekly Update

A few weeks back I mentioned I'd gotten back to playing with my paints, stickers and Mod Podge. I've done a few little projects and enjoying my rediscovery of this long lost hobby of mine. The small red box is one I use when I travel to carry my jewelry, as you can see it just yells "me." The second is a frame I painted and decorated as a memento for my husband. It now holds a picture he had taken while visiting the Phoenix Zoo back in April.
Most of my stitching time I spent working on Mildred's Garden House by Blackbird Designs and I'm really making some progress on this one. I am now back to the baby sampler for my grandson Izaiah and hope to do the final finish on my Prairie Schooler exchange piece.

And new to my stash:

Weekend finishes & stashing...

Quaker Tree
by The Workbasket
Trick or Treat Kitty
by Brittercup Designs
JCS 2008 October issue

I was  determined to make a dent in my ornaments so I worked on a couple of small projects during the retreat this weekend and finished the two shown above.

I did a bit of stashing too and I am now the proud owner of a pair of Gingher "Emma" scissors which I purchased at JoAnn's for just $9.97. They only had two pairs left and I was lucky enough to get one while Val got the other pair.

For charts I got all 3 leaflets of Santa's 12 Days of ChristmasChristmas Past and Santas Snowman all by Prairie Schooler. I also got Sally Spencer Sampler by Birds of a Feather.

While at Michael's and JoAnn's I picked up some new ribbons for finishing a few pinkeeps. Overall I did really well and I'm quite happy with my stash enhancement.
