Updates of WIPs

I might have made more progress on For This Child by My Big Toe had I not run out of DMC 3808 and having to embark on a trip to various Michael's to find what I needed. For some reason (that no one is willing to admit to) the DMC floss bins at their stores have been pretty neglected lately. I finally found three skeins at my local JoAnn's.
Yesterday my local stitch group spent the day at Madonna's Needleworks in Morgan Hill and I did a little work on Mildred's Garden House by Blackbird Designs. As you can see this one is pretty close to being done too.

This upcoming week all my stitching will be set aside for a new model I'll be stitching for Country Cottage Needleworks and I'm anxious to start it. Have a good week!

Prairie Schooler finish...

I finished B is for Blackbird by Prairie Schooler and plan to add C is for Cow to this piece before finishing it into a pillow. All three designs are from Book No. 98, A*B*C.

Stash Enhancement

I got Liberty and Thirteen Colonies by Little House Needleworks added to my stash so while at the LNS yesterday I picked up the threads they had and ordered the rest. Can't wait to start on these two.

May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you

A stitch-filled week...

I'm happy to say that I made quite a bit of progress on two of my WIPs.

I'm hoping to have this baby sampler done for my grandson Izaiah before his first birthday in May and at the moment I think I can pull it off.
For this Child by My Big Toe
As of 5/31/10
As of 3/14/11

I might have finished the Prairie Schooler but after a few nights of DMC 3371 on those blackbirds, I just had to move on and work on something else.

Weekly update

This week's finish comes again courtesy of Michelle Lutzen. The picture isn't the best but he's still one heck of a cute fella. Now to decide on how to finish it...still have some of those beads left that I used on my last two finishes. Hmmm...

I also worked on B is for Blackbird by Prairie Schooler and will post an updated photo in a few days. I did a bit more of my wood painting and finished a small box for my mother who celebrates her birthday on St. Patrick's Day.

This week I hope to pick up the baby sampler I started for my grandson Izaiah before he was born. His first birthday is coming up in May and I'd sure like to have it done by then. Even better I hope to deliver it in person to my grandson by making a trip to San Antonio.

Hubby took advantage of the nice weather in the Bay Area on Saturday by going on a bike ride. Here is some pictures of the "wild life" he encountered on his ride. Amazing that just a few miles from our city it still does exist.
